For those who are interested and able to support the local veteran's during the Santa Rosa Veteran’s Parade Wednesday, November 11th.

We'll stage approx 8:45 AM (0845) Milton HS and will finish at the Veteran’s Plaza. Following the parade will be comments from a guest speaker, 21-gun salute, taps, and a free picnic afterwards.

If anyone will be available to participate let me know or just post here by Sunday night. I'll forward our numbers to the organizer and pass more specifics.

Cheers,
Dave

hmm lets see.. not working that day... so either support our Vets or hang around and drink beer all day..

guess I'll see ya Wednesday morning Smile

I know alot of other ppl have to work but for those that are not working. Come on out. this as we all know is a small event for the community and every one that does come out counts in a big way. Not like you have alot of other stuff that can't be put off for a few hours to show the community.

We'll actually ride along in the parade. The guy organizing it said that they had some good support and turnout from the community last year.

Nice. 3 Rigs so far. What are you guys doing to your rigs for the parade?

Any thoughts on bringing the ECJ banner?

Right now, I'm thinking about some window paint and mounting some flags somehow.

Dusther,
All you need is some red window paint and slap some white stickers on your hood and you'd be GTG Laughing

I'd have to confirm w/ Super Dave but imagine the banner is around 6 ft long.

The Santa Rosa Parade is still a GO. In order to all stay together in the parade, we'll meet up together between the brand new Walgreens and old Movie Time at the corner of Dogwood (Hwy 89) and Hwy 90 at 8:45 a.m. We'll all drive up together right away and fall in the the parade on the west side of H.S.

From the news:

The Veterans Day Parade, scheduled for Nov. 11 is looking for volunteers to help assist with the day’s celebration. The parade will begin at 9:30 at the North parking lot at Milton High School. It will make its way down Stewart Street to Berryhill, and down to Pine.

The Veteran’s Day ceremony will be held at the Veteran’s Plaza at 11:00 following the commencement of the parade. Honorary speaker Col. Chris “Caveman” Holzworth will address people at the plaza, and the ceremony will be followed by a cookout. 4-H members will be serving up hamburgers and hot dogs at the south gazebo in the park.

don't forget to run by a store somewhere and pick up a few bags of candy or bring something to throw for those that do show up to watch. I know alot of ppl that are not working until Thursday due to this small storm and the holiday.

I'll be there. Not sure if I'll drive my rig or just find an empty seat with somebody else.

My banner carrying buddy has abandoned me (just kidding Jen), so that is definitely not a task I'm volunteering for. If she was here... she still wouldn't let me talk her into that again anyway..lol.

Thanks for your offer Merlin but my a/c won't be nearly as effective w/ the roof gone (you know I have to have my a/c)... by the way, are you going to pick this thing up or not?

Becca was kind enough to inform me that Black Water Bistro will have $1 beers for the military, DOD and their families... first round is on me.

Check out Applebees too. They have a promotion for the military.
